Hon. Governor William Spry State House Utah Hon. Sir! We the undersigned, do hereby protest to you, against the execution of Josef Hillstrom; for reasons that we will state. First that Hillstrom is a workingman, a producer. Second that at the first trial Hillstrom was convicted on circumstancial evidence, Third that Appelquist never was found and brought back to Salt Lake City, and that he "Appelquist" undoubtly would be the greatest witness in this case, Fourth that it is not human to take human life, and that the taking of Hillstrom's life will not bring

Mr. Morrison and his son back to life. Fifth that we as workingmen have got to stay with Hillstrom in this hour of need, Sixth and last that we do not believe Hillstrom guilty of a crime like the killing of the Morrison's.
