Those prejudices were given for the express purpose of keeping the Mormon a distinct people; and there is a further reason - If
a Mormon marries one who says he[underlined: "can't"]
quit smoking - drinking or even the use
of coffee it shows that he or she is weak
willed - a degenerate, and punishment will
be inflicted on the children of such a union
even if not on the parants.

So there is some use for prejudice after
all! instead of being the brand of ignorance
it is the hall mark of knowledge; and
the person who claims that he has no
prejudice is the ignoramus after all-
Well, he only lacks experience to bring
his prejuices to the surface, civilization
will do that, he has them but they are
latent, he don't know it, - but he will
learn some time.
