CUSHING, OKLA. SEPT. 27TH. 1915.

Hon. WILLIAM SPRY,

Govenor of Utah.

Dear Sir: --

We, the signers of the inclosed petition, have carefully
gone over the evidence as adduced by the Court which tried Joe Hill
or Joseph Hillstrom; we have read all sides of the case as presented
to the public by both the labor press of the country, as well as
that by the independent papers and the rabidly capitalistic, and we
are convinced that THERE IS NOT ONE SINTILA OF PROOF ADDUCED AT
THESE TRIALS TO WARRANT THE EXECUTION OF THIS DEFENDANT, OR HIS IMPRISONMENT EVEN. THE ONLY THING UPON WHICH THE PROSECUTION DEMANDS
THE LIFE OF THIS MAN, IS BASED UPON THE FACT THAT HE WAS WOUNDED ON
THE SAME NIGHT THAT THE STORE-MAN and his son were killed.

The signers of this petition are not members of the Industrial
Workers Of The World, with the exception of TEN; the remainder are
persons not affiliated with any organization; a few of them are
merchants and business men, the remainder are working people.

Trusting this and other petitions, which have been sent you
will cause you to give pause in this tragic case, and extend clemency
to this INNOCENT MAN, I am,

Yours very respectfully,

J. S. Koen

For the signers of this petition.
