Thou shall not kill. I the State of Utah
through its office. "I will kill you!"
Now the defendant ceases to be on trial.
It is the State of Utah (that proposes to carry
out the very thing it denies to an individual
member of society) that stands convicted.
It is the State of Utah that premeditate murder
in a word "Revenge."
It is the State of Utah that advocates the law of
Moses, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth,
a life for a life. If this method and practice
were effective in the elimination of offences
against society then crime should have
banished from the earth ages ago.
We the undersigned citiens all residing in
Philadelphia are opposed to capital punishment
we advocate that society shall find a better
method of restraining those who offend other than
the death penalty.
You are the Governor of Utah: It is within your
power to exectue a stay of proceedings and
grant clemency to Joseph Hillstrom.
If you as Governor of the State of Utah say to
Joseph Hillstrom "Thou shall not kill," then
