Council me in the tithing office. Councilor
F. Olson presiding. Prayer by H. Olson.
Joseph T. Ellis the assessor & collector stated that
the council would have to extend for assessing
the city tax. He also desired the council to
fix the rate at which property should
be assessed. And he stated that the taxes
were all collected for the year 1878 with
the exception of about $16.
It was agreed that the assessor receive for
compensation 12 1/2 per cent; that being the
amount allowed to the county & territorial
assessor.
It aws moved, seconded , & carried that all
taxable property within the thousands {corporate} limits of Spring
City be taxed at one half (1/2) of 1 per cent
for the years 1879 uponthe following
valuation of property. Land from $5.00 $12
per acre. Improvements upon public lands
according to their value. City lots with
houses theron from $25. to $600.
Horse teams with harness from $40. to $100.

Oxen from $40. to $50. per home
Cows $12 1/2 per head. Three years old streets $12 1/2
Two year olds $7. per head. Yearlings $3.
