road immediately west of Salt Lake City; also the motion of Mr. Hatch
asking for an appropriation of five hundred dollars to build and
repair roads in Wasatch county reported that they had had the several
subjects under consideration and recommended that the above named
sums be inserted in the Territorial Appropriation Bill, provided
the financial condition of the Treasury will justify the same.
On motion of Mr Wright the committee on claims
and appropriations were instructed to insert the same in the Territorial Appropriations bill.
Titles 14 and 15 of C.F.3. "An Act to regulate proceed=
ings in civil cases in courts of Justice of this Territory" were read
the first time by their headings.
Title 14 was read the second time by sections.
Said title was read the third time by its heading and
so passed.
Pending the reading of title 15 the second time.
On motion of Mr. G. Taylor the same was referred
to the committee on Judiciary.
A message from the Council was received and
read announcing that they had passed "H.F.17. An Act
to amend an Act, prescribing the manner of assessing and
collecting Territorial and county taxes and for other purposes,"
with an additional section and an amendment which was
read, and,
On motion of Mr. Thurber the House concurred
with the council in the passage of the same.
Minutes read and accepted.
On motion of Mr _________ the House adjourned till
6:30 pm.
Benediction by Mr. Evans.
Half-past six P.M
House resumed its sitting.
Roll called. Quorum present.
Mr. Thurber, in behalf of the committee on judiciary
to whom was referred title 15 of C.F.3. "An Act to regulate proceedings
in civil cases in courts of Justice of this Territory," reported the
same back amended, and recommended its passage as amended.
On motion of Mr. Cluff, the recommendation of
the committee was adopted.
Said title was read the second time by sections
and further amended.
Said title 15 was read the third time by its heading
and so passed.
Mr. Cluff in behalf of the committee on education
to whom was referred H.F. 10, a bill entitled "An Act amending
An Act for the establishment and support of Common Schools,
etc." reported adversely to the passage of the same.
On motion of Mr. Rowberry, the report of the committee
was adopted.
