Reply to_EAR Company_71st Bat. C. E. F. Regt #12[6?]141 May 31 1916 Stationed at_Auxney Camp. Bordon England King George's Hospital Waterloo Rd. London Dear Fan: I thought that I had better write you people in Toronto and let you know that I am still alive even though I am in the hospital.

I suppose that you will have heard all about me and my boils. by the time that you receive this letter. It is certainly too bad that I should [go - crossed out] get them when I was trying to see the sights of the world. I suppose that I must be glad though like "Pollyana" and say that it might be worse.

I have been here now since Sat night and I certainly feel a good deal better now than I did when I came. [because - crossed out] I have been taking medicine right along and I had one injection

They have all died away but the scars and the [scabs - crossed out] place where some of the iodine burnt my face is still there and looks nasty. I expect that I will be out of here in a few days and long before you get this letter.

It was certainly too bad that the 71st was broken up. Perhaps it is over with us. They are only placing a few of the officers and only lieutenants and one Captain at that, and those are transfered into dear knows what battalion. It was certainly pretty hard for the old colonel to try and, explain everything. I am transfered

to the 12th Brigade signallers and I will not know where I am stationed till I get back to the old camp.

I have not seen much of London yet but the Tower and the main streets and the River. I will write you a letter later on when I get out of here and tell you all about it. Well I gess I will close Fan for this time. I just wrote mother a letter. Best love to all in Toronto and Hope that all are well. Your loving Brother. Ted. P.S. By the way Fan did you get that pin that I gave Stan that night at the union station to give to you to keep for me. He put it in his vest pocket and I thought that he might forget it.
