Perfect day. To Folkestone this P.M. where I called on Lt Col McKee - chatted over old times. Havre, Boulogne etc. Told me of his doings in the Dardanelles. Something awful. Surprise package from Mark Cross. She [unclear] [unclear].

Nothing new. The papers had the news of the Scandal in Canada about the Fuses, & that Sir Sam was sailing on the next boat. The trains were stopped [unclear] of Zepps last night, consequently no progress this A.M. Five Zepps were reported.
