Met Col Ford at Pavilion Hotel about 10 15 A.M. He had Col Scotts car & we went to Moore Barracks where Col McLaren joined us. Went through M.B. Hosp. Met Miss [unclear] the Matron who was at Juilly till June 1915. Had a talk with Ford at Pavilion about going back etc. Had lunch there while he went to Metropole to meet Kirkpatrick & wife who motored from Ramsgate. Ford looks awfully bad. Saw him off after lunch. Returned via bus to Hythe & taxi at 3 P.M. found letter awaiting from [unclear].
