April 23rd 1927

Dear Dyo -
At last safely here - on time -
Irving met me & we went straight to the
[KS. Edward] Hotel & got a room & put the
kids in a bath! They were dirty. Then [Ir.]. & I
went out to the Beach. Poor Daddy he'd had a
very bad night, they were up all night with him,
fearing they knew not what. [Brefney] came just
after us & says it is a flu-cold, of course he
wont stay in bed, but sits by his fire in
his paddy dressing gown. He is so happy to have
us. I didn't chat long for fear of wearying him,
but started off with [Irv.] to look for a flat near
by. the rents are lower & we thought we might
be near Dad & so contrive a ear too. Eleanor
has lost her job at Eatons so she went up to
the Hotel & brought the kids down for lunch.
Daddy was pleased with them. Then we house
hunted again with no luck. I left at 3.30 to
come & see Mother, she is tiny & very frail but
knew me & chatted for an hour. When I left
