set forth above and without any intention on the part of the City of accepting ot
taking over Altamont Street as a Public or City Street.

Gas Tank permit granted to Mr. Robinson
Upon motion by Mr. Brown, seconded by Mr. Morris, the request of
Mr. Robinson to install a gas tank under sidewalk in front of his place on Water
Street, was granted with the understanding that if at any time it is necessary to
tear up sidewalk he to bear the expense of replacing same. Said pump to be
installed inside building, by the following recorded vote: Ayes Brown & Morris,
Noes Joachim.

Side for grading etc for Athletic Field
The City Manager was instructed to get bids on grading, Sewerage
& Drainage of Athletic field.

Upon motion the Meeting adjourned.

COUNCIL CHAMBER JULY 16, 1923.

The Council met in regular session on this date with the following
members present: Messrs Brown and Morris.

The Minutes of the meeting of July 2nd were read corrected and approved.

Permit for Minor & Richey to move Sign.
A permit was granted Minor and Richey to move their Attorney-at-law sign
from their former location on Court Square to Corner of Fifth and Market Streets.

Repairs to Children Home.
A communication from the Secretary to the Board of Lady Managers of the
Childrens Home Inc. requesting that certain needed repairs to the building be done
was referred to the City Manager with instructions to have repairs requested done.

The following resolution was adopted:

Altamont Streets Accepted by the City.
"Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that
Altamont Street be accepted by the City as a Public Street. The City to adopt the
present grade of the center line of the Street as the Street Grade.

Petition of residences on Altamont St.
The Petition signed by the property owners who will be affected by the
adoption of this grade line is hereby made a part of this resolution:

TO THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE::

The undersigned owners of property on Altamont Street petition the Council
to accept said street. We waive all damages which may be caused our property by
grading the Street provided the City establishes the present center of the Strret as
the grade line and erects any retaining walls rendered necessary by the change in grade
and replaces any walls or entrances which have to be moved or altered.

The following resolution was unaminously adopted:
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that the
monthly reprt of the Joint Health Department Department for month of June 1923 and each
month thereafter be recorded on the minutes:
