Dear Sir,
Mr. Beaman requests me to write as follows. "Time for filing claim not yet limited by the treaty or the Department. First statement of claim must be at Geneva on 17 Decem next. List of claims are now being printed. It is best that claims should be in this first list, but cannot probably be unless they are filed in three or four weeks & even then may be late. If not filed then they may be filed or presented in subsequent statement. This is confidential to Mr. C. & yourselves".

The Panama RR Co. Have given us their claim for loss of Brig "Golden Rule" by the "Alabama." They do not want to give a power of Atty. but will sign such an agreement as us may present, & as we have not insisted on the power from Corporations we wish you would prepare such an agreement as between The Panama RR Co. a Corporation under the laws of New York by David Hoadley Presdt. & C. C. Beaman Art. B. & A H D. The terms are as stated in our printed form. Mr. Hoadley owned a part of the vessel individually & you had
