OFFICE OF THE
Boston Daily Advertiser,
No. 29 Court Street.

Boston], Oct 4 1872,

Dear William:-
I hastily wrote
this evening, the article which
will appear in the Advertiser
of tomorrow, I had first
thought to defer it and
make a more formal, or
at least extended matter
of it, but as the text in
the form of [illegible] was getting
a little old I thought has
to have it [printed?] tomorrow
Hoping that you may [illegible]
it as better than nothing I
remain

[In haste?]
A Ross
