Corotoman Virginia March [crossed out]

Gent

Yours by Capt. Moodie inclosing the Change of Insurance for my last Consignment Togather with an account Currt for August of 6 came to hand a few days ago, by the Policy I find my Tob. in the neptune has Been insurd agreeable with my Directions which law [illegible] I hope still entitle me to a good accot of sales as the quality of that Tob. was [crossed out] certainly tolerable, however whether good or bad I dare say justice will be Done me in the Disposal of it, so that I shall Rest satisfied_ But Gentlemen I cant Help complaining of injustice in my Acct. Currt. which greatly surprised me, I mean the Charge of Interest which sum tho not very Considerable, I shall not chearfully submit to, your answer to their Objection, I readily guess will be, pray sir why should we, who are men in Trade and can fall upon so many ways of making a great Profit by our money [crossed out]. Advance a considerable sum to you as any other person, without a measurable Compensation For such an act of Kindness, but Pray Gentelmen, Consider of the Profit a [illegible] from the confignment of 40 hhds of Tob.o annually, and tell me, whither it is not a sufficient satisfaction for advancing the sums of money I have Hitherto desired of you in answers to this, you may possibly say, no sir, the Profit accruing From Yr. Confignments are not adequate, and that altho', we demand an interest of five Prct. we do you a favour in Lending so much money, Particulatly in time of War, when we could make so much more of it from other schemes, of this, gentlemen, is your opinion, [crossed out] I can by no means agree with you but must think the obligation between us [illegible] to convince you of which truth give me leave to offer one reason more to indice you so relinquish the change of interest. (Much crossed out).
