Both these good men I have [stirred?] up to the business matters specially, & think they will do a good deal—The [memorial?] came late—the first box 2d day of the meeting, the other the last day—I have sold them all however & can [a/c?] for 110 Dolls cash. Please also send immediately to care Ingham & Bragg a box containing 20 Memorials (com. copy) and 6 copies extra for Rev N. L [Lord?]—care Rev S. Warren, and 25 copies (com.) to Rev. S. Warren—make the packages separate & direct all (in same box) to care "Ingham & Bragg" and charge as follows N. L. [Lord?] 20 copies memo. $100— delivered by Mr Alvord 4 25.00

The storm prevented my stopping in N. York Please say this to Rev Mr. Pierce—Mr. Bush I leave is sick unable to see any one or attend to business—I was to have written Mr. Pierce after serving Mr. Bush—

The meeting here has been a good one but the storm in coming on was terrific We were driven from the [eve?] to the central road—loosing, of course, our fare, & did not reach here until Tuesday morning—Heard of John along through the state, sorry I did not see him before he went & direct him more particularly to call on leading ministers & agents of the Board—Dr. [Pahm?] would have aided him in Albany—Mr [Cameron?] at Geneva &c Please say this to him if he is to go back same way—The memorial is to go not so much through book-sellers as by special effort—canvassing by in dividend [arguing?]—so say booksellers [Thursday?] Ingham & B say the more you do of this, the more they can sell at the store—It needs advertisement every where among the common people, & [our?] adevertis-ment is so good as the sight & offer of it—Hurry it up, that 2d. common edition,—It should be at once in all the large cities. This Board meeting will make its ripple for you a few days, & then in the rush & roar of public affairs will pass away—Strike whil the iron is hot In haste—Yours [sc?] J. W. Alvord

[sideways on left side] P.S. Sold 50 or 60 copies to be delivered in N. York & Boston to such men as Gen'l Williams Wm E Dodge—& other N Yk delegates who did not care to be [hindered?] with them, & also as my supply was short—W. E. D. took 25 copies &c
