Washington D. C. October 31, 1863 My Dear I drop this [now?] to say I am pretty well—Dr Marks has just [ard?] & we go to the [Front?] first of the [wuse?] Mr. Broughton [wrote?] me for a [obpbiate?] [certifiead?] for the & 300 I put in the 520s, that he cannot get the [saip?] without it [be?]. Do you know any thing about this paper?—I sent [back?] one paper wh. came [to?] me through mistake but that appears not to [be?] what he wants—Please see what you have among your papers—[JP?] [Seimus?] to [one?] I gave you something of the [Kris?] charging you to [Run?] it until called for. I sent him

also an order for the surplus money in the Savings Bk—and saying of you all thought best the whole in that Bank could be drawn out & placed in the [Goo?] [C?] funds— [Mitt?] you see is [ace?] this—& that, in any case, it shall be all fixed & placed in the safe so that we shall not loose it—I feel? some evenings about that 300—I [be?] [bear?] I [sand?] to Mr B. that I [ractus?] thought you better [charm?] out the whole—The [money?] [if?] [wo?] should want it for use in Mk, can be more easily got at in the funds Than in the BK—[So?] [haste?]— [Save?] to all J. P.S. You know I first put in 300 Dolls—& then 150 Dolls afterwards—Dont mistake the one sum for the other—see that both are all right, & also that now to be drawn out
