Your favor of the 10th was [duty?] [sec?], For which please accept my thanks.
You say, "Gen. Howards election "was revoked, as a bad record of Trustee "action, (illegal proably) tho' he subse"quently paid his loan: but the board did "not like to have it seen that they had "ever voted upon a candidate while in one "of the funds." And you inquire:
"Was, or was not, this the best thing we could do?"
Pardon me, if I return the question with a restatement of the facts.
Under there has been a falsifying of the records, which I do not [bekine?], they now show.
1st that at the January mutiny, Gen.

Howard, while a debtor to the Bank was elected a Trustee.
2. At the Feb. meeting, when he had paid his indebtedness, his section was revoked.
Was, or was not, this the best thing we (trustees) could do?
