the [bible?] read to her, expressed an interest in the [telegram?] welfare [of?] some her friends but expressed no hopes or fears for herself she had not been told her [danger?] and we think was not fully aware of her situation, still it was evident during the last few days of her life that she was [visiting?] on the Rock [mud?] that Christ was with her
In the [evening?] I telegraphed again for D [Sanford?]. Monday night she rested as well as she had [drone?] for several nights. Tuesday morning she had her first [sin?] [kink?] [turn?] the Doctor was called in and she [reveded?] going in to the room after she was better and [placing?] my face near hers asked her if she knew me. She threw her arms around my neck ^exclaimed oh my dear [Falkin?]^ & kissed me. and then closing her eyes said to herself "Oh when shall I see [Jeans?]"—

She continued to have sinking [terms?] nearly every hour from which we [revived?] her the [free?] use of stimulants. D Sanford came again at noon but found her beyond help said he thought she would not live an hour. She did however live until 8 oclock in the [evng?], when she [died?] with out a struggle.
She was a child [wth?] many friends many more than we had known which she had won by her pleasant cheerful ways The many anxious enquiries we had answered during her sickness told us [of?] the interest the whole community [fell?] in her [ucovering?] The many who [came?] and filled the house wanting to hear every word from the sick room during the last hours of her life showed us that few [dee?] beloved by [mond?]. Many very many came wept over her before & at the [furneal?] and a great multitude

followed her to the [grave?]. I cannot tell you how much we miss her. She was the life & light of the house full of cheerfulness and animation every day was full of joy to her a [friend?] to all she had a pleasant word & smile for every one and all you [knew?] her loved her. [The?] buried her with our others dear ones where so many of our name [awaits?] the resurrection. God help us. We are daughterless lonely, & sad.
I send 3 pictures the dark one is the one that looks most like her, and is the last she had taken You may [see?] her more however as you last saw her in the others and I send them. Clara is no better: is better in health but more [insand?] she is wearing out Kate [I?] [desired?]. I think it will be better to have her go back to Hartford again if she continues to grow worse mentally—
