plan or extent. The rear wall as seen from the exterior seems to have no symmetry and little connexion (sic-connection) with the symmetrical facade as will be seen in the accompanying plan - it is perfectly solid and unbroken - a good piece of masonry.
Adjoining this great structure on the North are extensive ruins which may be the remains of the imperial palace - this is the most commanding site in the town.
These ruins extend from the building, described above, to the E & W avenue and on the north side of the avenue for ^ a good ^ distance.
The palace, or whatever it was, was carried over the road by a long vaulted passage wide enough to permit the passing of two large vehicles. One the north side a few of the rooms of the lower story are preserved and constitute several houses for the natives.
It is not possible without deeper investigation to discern the extent of the palace.
