the frieze; but in most cases this part is badly weathered. If this be the correct position, there were pilaster caps wrought into the frieze below the cornice (see I.)
The details of the interior consist of the door cap of the N. central portal, which has fallen forward but is held almost in situ by other fallen blocks. The Persian half columns and caps, and a large number of small half columns attached to either end of a square block, with thin caps and bases. Besides these there are a number of fragments of cornice which may have fallen in. It is not impossible that these smaller details were brought into the temple when a late restoration was made, for a number of [sunken] details? were formed outside the temple, on the East, South and West.
These details are generally in Classic style though some of the bases have inverted leaves.

A number of fluted half drums were found inside and outside of the temple, all have sharp arrises. In one case a fluted 1/2 drum, badly broken was found at the opposite end of a block bearing a base with [ moulded ] bases at the other end.
The blocks at the angles of the courses were of an unusual form, being cut to [ size ] for both faces and accommodated to courses of difference thickness
The windows of the staircase appear just above and below the string course. They are deeply splayed measuring .26 x .10 m outside and .60 and .50 inside.
