V
il-Kmireh. This is another ancient village that
serves as a quarry for neighboring Druse villages
The place was originally of medium size, with
many houses crowded together; the buildings are
mostly of roughly quadrated stone work, and if
there were any houses or parts of houses of dressed
stone they have entirely disappeared under the
Druse hammer. In a courtyard in the
N.E. part of the ruin are found a draped torso
.64m high from shoulders to knees, it was rather
crudely fashioned but [important] merit in its
treatment of a finely ornamental drapery.

V
ir-Rushêdeh, like il- Ḳmêreh, has been preyed upon
by neighbouring villages for building material while
scarcely a fragment of finished stone is to be
found. The site is a fine one, upon a rocky
tell away from a fertile plain. It is said that
several inscriptions now to be seen in the modern
houses of near-by villages, came from this place.
