V
Umm ir-Rummân is a large inhabited village in
which there are two or three ancient houses
still inhabited. These are built of half finished
stonework without mouldings or other decoration.

In front of the Meḍâfeh of the Shêkh are two
small columns with late Christian capitals, and
two Ionic capitals of the kind common in Bosra.
There was undoubtably a small classic
building here, possibly a temple.

V
Sôkhar has been entirely destroyed for building
stones. It was a large village in ancient times
and one finds, among its ruins, a few
fragments of rather late mouldings, besides
fragments of Nabataean grape vine ornament.
This was probably one of the more important
towns of the region.

V
Bekkeh is an ancient site now inhabited by Druses.
We passed through the N.E. part of the village
and noticed a few ancient walls on the North.
These were of half finished masonry.
