President Poteat explained the office of Bursary, Registrar, and Sec of the Faculty. The office by motion (Aydlett) is created. Bro. E. B. Earnshaw is elected to fill the same at a salaray of $1250.00, annually, he to give his full time for the whole year. Adopted.

Mr Earnshaw is elected Assistant Secretary of the Board of Trustees.

[* Scholars *] Moved that one scholarship for each school be extened to students in Stinceon[?] Institute, Piedmont High School, Gastonia[?] Graded School, Fayetteville Graded School and New Burn[?] Graded School. Said scholarships to be on same terms and conditions as other scholarships open to Graded Schools and Academies. J A Oates

Premises & Accommodation

Whereas there is pressing need for boarding accommodation for the students of the College and whereas sufficient accommodation cannot nor be had. That it be the sense of the Committee to take steps to relieve this need and that a committee of three be appointed to have under consideration a plan to secure such relief and report to the Board at a meeting to be held three months hence. Com appointed: Mrs. Tydlett, Lynch, Vann, Leaborough, Holgood

The following report is received and the Secretary is ordered to thank Dr. Coyle for his faithful and very efficient work.

Endowment

In accordance with your action authorizing a loan of $2000 to go on canvass for real endowment, we have secured all available signs in certain most important cities to the extent of the Treasurer having cash and notes $41,655. We are in sight of enough additional subscriptions to carry the total beyond $50,000.

My expenses for traveling & postage have been $243.25.

I desire also to report in connection with the temporary —

At the urgent request of our committee in June last, I was instructed to return to Louisiana for which we then had subscriptions of fair degree, and after the third vacation the canvass was resumed, raising $2399 of $5000 of which is yet paid.
