25 — Farmed ou the "Back Garden" to Frederick Staltze — He having "two parts in three" — set Dahlias in Hot=bed — Tulips up, also crocus spanish iris &c — Planted a small bed of Onions on light sandy soil in new ground — several Pelargoniums show flower beds — also Heliotrope and verbena —

27 a warm spring day — no frost last night

30 — Snow drops in flower

April

2d — Yellow crocus in flower.

7th Snow last night 2 inches — very cold —

10th warm again.

12th sowed giant tomatto in hot bed —

15th continued dry weather — Asparagus up —

19 — sowed cabbage seed — also peas & rhubarb from Washington

20 — Frost last night

22 — Hyacinth (Passatout) in flower

23 Hard rain cold — Peach tree in flower
