not. Had some report stated that it was my Dear old God mother Mrs. A. the widow who had married the priest. But it seems it is not so. I am very glad to hear it, for I still live in hopes of being her heir. By especial favor for I well know she thinks a great deal of me yet. Although she pretends not to, because I have always been opposed to having her name changed. And that does not agree entirely with her youthful & hopeful expectations. By the by her property there is very much neglected indeed. The cattle are all in there all the while & it seems entirely abandoned & destroyed.
How many pleasant hours have I passed with poor Madame Fisher laughing about these little matters But those times have passed never to return.
