H.S. Baird Esqr. Green Bay

Dear friend

Arriving at home on a visiteI find your favor of the 9th ult. with content, in to answer I would state that the tax lists will not be returned before July next, when the payment of these taxes will be duly attended to and the discount of the County Orders calculated in your favor.

To Mrs. Baird my sincere thanks for her kind attention to my request for your likeness but still your better half will be missing; will you now kindly grant my request for her likeness also? Since I saw you I had the pleasure of meeting Your daughter at Madison whom I should certainly not have recognized had it not been for her mothers sweet eyes which I knew at once.

Please remember me kindly to all your dear family and accept my sincerest wishes for their and your own confirmed welfare.

Yours respectfully and fraternally
Fred. Borchardt

P.S. I shall give myself the pleasure of calling for these Photographs personally as soon as I ever can make it convenient.
F.B.
