My dear Sir,

Fearing I might not meet you on your arrival here, I venture thus to intrude upon you, & in reference to the Asylum matter to say a word or two respecting Dr. John Farell, who, I have been informed, has presented to your board a memorial in reference to the executive management of that Institution.

I have a very strong friendship for Dr. Farell, and having been intimately acquainted with him for some twelve years, most of which time he has been my family physician, & knowing your desire to understand every thing aright, & to murder fairness & justice to any party, have deemed it proper to testify to the integrity & nobleness of my friend, & to assure you that a more honorable
