My Dear Sir

I have just recd yours
of 10th inst on my return home.
I regret much that I could not
ahve made the trip south with
you. I will send you a box
of specimens and get Hathaway
to send a case of insects and
anything else that may occur
I am in the [hamet?] for the [Fair?]
here to some extent but the course
every where has a strong claim on
my heart
