Dear Sir
Your letter and package
have arrived in due time - thanks
for them. I have examined and named all
of them; some were of more particulars interest
on [illegible] of locality; e.g. Parry's I. [illegible]
(I. [illegible]) from St Peters - which I had not
known to grow so far west. And then a plant,
which you have found at Milwaukie and
named "J. [illegible]" 1 1/2 or 2 feet high;
with very small heads and a large [illegible]
Do you recollect the plant. It is what I
call J. [illegible] var. [illegible]
[illegible] [illegible]. ([illegible] [illegible])
If you could gather for me 100 good
specimens of that I should be very
happy. J. [illegible] I think less of, but
that other is an interesting and rare form.
Specimens with good base - if possible
several stems together, is as I want
