Prof I. A. Lapham,
My Dear Sir - A great mis-
fortune has happened to me. I
had your report on [firsts?] on
my table a few days since
but it has disappeared myste
riously. I appeal to you to
send me another for I need
it much as I am preparing
an article on
the [illegible] of our state, &
I want to use all of yours
I can or rather some parts
which I found interesting (I
always give credit)
A copy will greatly oblige
me at this time.
