[Letter from Increase Allen Lapham to Brother?]
Milwaukee June 2 — 1872

Dr Brother,

I received yesterday the
Chicago newspaper — you was kind
enough to send me with notice of
the death of Dr. Stimpson — a loss to
science, and especially to the Chicago
Academy. It is doubtful whether
the loss by fire was greater. The
receipt of this paper also intimates
that you and Elizabeth have
returned safely from your southern
trip which I presume has been
one of much interest and satisfaction
to both. We should be happy
to meet you either here or in
Chicago & have an account of
the wonders you have seen in
your wanderings. Mary has had
several very interesting letters from E.
while on her travels, for which we
are thankful.
