Dr Sir

I have now examined Mr. King's
Report on the Lepidopterous Insects of Wisconsin
and find that it contains matter of considerable
interest and value; perhaps worthy of a place
among the publications of the Geological
Survey. I wish, however, that he had been
more particular in his chirography, many
of his words, especially the technical names, we find
very difficult, some impossible, to make out; the
best composition would make very good work
with it. Please call Mr. King's attention
to this, and request that any future work of his
may be more carefully prepared. I hope to
have our work printed without typographical or
other errors, to secure which it is necessary
to supply clear copy.

Very truly yours,

I. A. Lapham
