[It is not] The following catalogue does not, of course, profess to contain anything like a complete list of all the natural productions of Wisconsin, but only of such as have been actually already observed-We can hear of others not mentioned in the list but no definite information upon which reliance could be placed has been received in relation to them.

The list of the natural productions of Massachusetts as published in Hitchcock Geological Report, are probably nearly complete, and there is every reason to suppose that Wisconsin is not behind that ancient commonwealth in the richness of her productions.

The following table will show how much yet remains to be don to complete the Wisconsin list.
