[Notes, Graphs, and Sketches]. February 19th-25th 1871

To Gen. Myer

I believe that the storm that passed over San Francisco on the 20th Corrine on the 21st, Cheyenne on the 22, Omaha on the 23, Milwaukee on the 24th, & Portland on the 25th was the first that had been thus traced entirely across our continent. The accompanying diagram of curves, shows this fact very clearly, and may have its use in the effort to find out more about the origin and progress of the great storms that so often sweep over the northern states & the region of the lakes. Feb 28. I.A.L.

Did the storm of Feb. 20-21 at San Francisco move over the continent eastward? Was it the same that was at Corinne on 21st Cheyenne 21-22 Omaha 23 Milwaukee 24 Detroit 24-25 Portland-25th Buffalo?
