Meteorological observations Commenced for the Lake Survey

Also set up a self registering tide gage (made by Coast Survey) on the north pier of the City Harbor. Placed under the immediate care of Mr. Henry Dousman.

Set Water Gauge at foot of Poplar Street so that the zero of gauge is 5 feet above zero of grades which is low water of March 1836. & zero of all former observations made by me-I.A. Lapham
