Abies Canadensis (Hemlock)

Abies Canadensis (Hemlock) Growth to Dec. 1866.

Growth regular or nearly so. Rings with resinous matter on the outer edge; in some this is enlarged so as to cover nearly the cuticle ring. No modulary rays-no vascular pores. The rings traversed by very numerous fine lines. Bark rough on the north side, smooth on the south. Growth north side 21 mm south side 29 mm or about 1/7 more on the south side.
