Rhytidolepis, Alveolaria, Favilaria & Catenaria, Stemb)

Stems ^large, tree = like, channeled, not articulated;
impressions in the form of a disc, disposed
in a quincunx. - Scars placed between
the furrows in rows, not arranged in
a distinctly spiral manner, smooth,
much narrower than the intervals
that separate them.

Stems usually marked with parallel
or reticulated ribs; scars placed spirally in
middle of the ribs, disc = form oblong, round,
scarcely lanceolate crosswise, with the sides
mostly angular, marked in the middle
by the vascular scars, usually placed by
3 or by 2, but seldom single.
