The statistics of the County of Racine ascertained in 1840 are as follows: 539 horses and mules, 4,506 meat cattle, 340 sheep, 6,549 swine, 2 commission houses, 19 stores and groceries, 2 lumber yards, 2 grist mills, 13 saw mills. The products of 1839 were [in this county] 36,099 bushels of wheat, 1,796 of barley, 41,028 of oats, 362 of rye, 3481 of buckwheat, 30,168 of Indian corn, and 53,667 of potatoes: 358 pounds of wool; 140 pounds of wax, 4,627 tons of hay, 6,051 pounds of maple sugar; and the produce of dairies was estimated at 10,030 dollars.

Wind Lake is the largest of the Lakes in Racine county lying one mile below Muskego lake in Muskego creek. It is six and one eighth miles in circuit, two miles long one and a half wide and occupies an area of two square miles. There are [about] twenty four smaller lakes or ponds in the western part of the county: the Indian names of three of which are,

Kenonamong- On sections five six and seven in townships four range twenty-about one mile long.
