Blackbird's Island. A small island in the Neenah river [near its mouth] five miles above Depere.

Black Creek-A small stream running into Lake Michigan in Sheboygan County about three miles south from the mouth of the Sheboygan river, in Sheboygan County. It is remarkable for running about six miles parallel with the lake shore, and only about a half a mile from it.

Black Earth Creek, a small tributary of the Wisconsin river in Dane County and entering Iowa county runs into the Wisconsin at Arena. See Arena.

Black River (Indian Sappah)- A large and important tributary of the Mississippi, entering between Ball and Chippewa rivers. It is about two hundred yards wide at its mout, contains about this width [illegible], runs through a region of pine forests, and affords much water power. A very large quantity of pine lumber is annually made
