Bristol, a town in Racine county embracing town one range twenty one, established in 1840; it is mostly prairie, watered by the Des Plaines river.

Bristol, a Post O. village in Racine county on the west side of the Des Plains twelve miles from Southport.

Brookfield, a town in Milwaukee county embracing the surveyed town seven in range twenty. It occupies the summit between the waters of the Menomonee and the Pishtaka, and is well watered by the small branches of those streams. The west part of the town is the commencement of the "Oak Openings" the eastern part of the town being covered with a heavy growth of timber. The soil is good and in the centre there is a natural meadow 252 ft above L. Mich sufficiently large to supply all its inhabitants with wild hay. It lies directly west from Milwaukee and the United States road from Milwaukee to the Mississippi runs through it from east to west. Pop. 1840-148
