Richmond- a town in Walworth County embracing the surveyed townships number three in ranges fifteen. It contains several small lakes constituting the source of Whitewater, and Turtle Creek. The great Rock Prairie [comes] comes into the south west corner of the town, and the main road from Racine to Janesville passes nearly through its centre.-Pop. 1842 176.

Ripley Lake a small lake in Jefferson county one mile north of Red Cedar Lake, in town six range thirteen. It is about one mile long and three fourths of a mile wide; and empties into Koshkonong creek. Length 1m 36 ch-per area 493 acres
