one contained forest-containing much valuable pine timber; and an important trade already exists in the Manufacture and Exportation of pine lumber from this county. At the south bend of Onion river is a place indicated on the maps as "Salt Lakes" but whether there are any facts derived there which warrent the belief of the existence of salt water or springs I am not informed. The rock found in the beds of rivers, &c. is limestone, similar to that found throughout the eastern portion of the Territory.
