Kickapoo river (Snake river) an important tributary of the St. Croix from the west entering below Kettle river, connected by an easy portage with Rum river, a route much used by the Indians. The mouth of Kinakic river is thirty seven miles above the Great Falls of the St. Croix and thirty five miles below the mouth of Yellow river.

Kinnickinic creek, a small stream entering the Milwaukee river at its mouth. It name is the Indian for tobacco. This name was applied to a town embracing the head of the creek now called Greenfield- Pop-1840-404*
