LaFontaine, a town laid out near the foot of the Grand Kakalin rapid, on the south side of the Neenah river immediately below the entrance of a small run. A company has been incorporated by the Legislature to construct a rail road from this place to the Winnebago Lake.

*La Grange.
Lake, a town in Milwaukee county on the Lake shore immediately south of Milwaukee, embracing the surveyed township number six in range number twenty two. It is watered principally by the Kinniokinnic creek and its branches, possesses a good soil and is well watered. Pop 1840-418.

Lake of the Woods, a lake at the most northern extremity of the Territory, about three hundred miles in circumference which derives its name, and is much noted, from the numerous small islands which it incloses covered with
