St. Croix Lake (Upper) a lake forming the source of the St. Croix river a beautiful sheet of clear deep water twelve miles long from north to south and from one to three miles broad. It has a pretty little island near the south end. It is forty six miles above the mouth of the Namakagon river and two hundred miles above the mouth of the St. Croix river.

St. Croix Lake, one of the lakes forming the northern boundary of the Territory-lying east of Sturgeon Lake. It receives on the Canada side a small river called the La Croix river.

St. Croix Falls- a rapid on the St. Croix river extending several smiles, where the river is confined between perpendicular walls of greenstone rocks. This place was the scene of a decisive battle between the Chippewas and the Sauks and Foxes in which these tribes were defeated and finally driven from the Chippewa country.
