Third Lake, one of the "Four Lakes" in Dane County, next below the Fourth Lake, and intermediate in size as well as position between the Fourth and Second Lakes. Madison the seat of government of the Territory is on the north shore of this lake, occupying the narrow neck or strip of land between this and the Fourth Lake. It covers about six square miles of surface is three and a half miles long, its water very clear and ten feet deep; the banks are high and undulating, bearing a scattered growth of bur oak and white oak trees.

Thorn Apple creek, a small branch of the East Twin river in Brown county, rising near the Kewaunee and entering the Twin in Town twenty two.

Thornberry river (Rivere des Epinettes) a branch of the Mississippi entering Lake Winnepeck west of Round river.
