Cincinnati, March 17th, 1848............

My dear Sir,--

Yours of Dec. 11th was duly received.*** Your valuable article on the brick was received and I have written an editorial from information obtained from your matter, calling the attention of our citizens to a clay in this vicinity making similar brick, a copy will be sent to you when printed.

I suppose you have seen the several articles on Milwaukee and Wisconsin that appeared in the Gazette as editorials.***

"At a meeting of citizens held at the Council room on Saturday evening after full discussion it was deemed expedient to establish a college in this city and the following persons were appointed an Executive Committee with full power to act in the premises.
