1-A cold NW wind all day 17-A slight fall of rain and snow at 6 AM 19. A flurry of snow at 8 AM

Note-The mercury in one of the thermometers became reparted on the 1st January & by opening the window the heat from the room rendered the observations unreliable. From observations made by Mr. Hawley I adopt the following:
