Columbus O. Jan. 5th, 1864.

I.A. Lapham, Esq.

Dear Sir,--

Mr. Lesquereau, who is now busy preparing a second and much more copious issue of our "Musci Exrica", requests me to remind you that he will be unable to introduce (which we much desire to do) specimens of the Musca dealbata, except through your kindness?

Very truly yours,

W.S. Sullivant.

Dr. I.A. Lapham,

Dear Sir,-

On arriving here yesterday I found your very kind note.*** It will give me great pleasure to accept your invitation to spend a day or two with you.***

After next week I have no engagements and would be happy to visit you then.

Very truly yours,

L. Agassiz.

Dr. I.A. Lapham,

Dear Sir,-

I thank you most cordially for the second lot of shells sent from Milwaukee. How deeply do I regret that I did not begin collecting earlier in '63 so as to have more duplicates: Another season if I am alive and well, will not find me unprepared.***
