234 c Penn Year Jan.22nd 1846 Mrs. J A Lapham Dear Sir Late in the fall I sent to you by Dr. E.B. Walcott a package of Canies, such as you desired, I would have sent the other plants you whished, but had not time to put them up. [-------?] that Dr. Walcott wanted not go so soon by two weeks, The package was accompanied with a letter, all of which Dr. Walcott said he would deliver to you, I have heard nothing from you Since, and whether you ever received the [---?] or not, I am ignorant of. I sent you a bit excited from your Catalogers of such plants as I deserve, & if last I shall have to send you another. Among other things I wished love 20 or so [--------?] of Cases Haughtonic, up my forthcoming work of [-------?] [---------?] I also wished you to lend me a couple of specimens in a letter, which if you have ever sent the letter has [------?]. Perhaps Dr. Walcott has forgotten to deliver the Package to you If so please call on him and enquire I will lend you a package of plants as Lake navigation opens as I know of no very of transportation at this Lesson unkempt by Excerpts which is too experience I hope to hear from you soon. Letter from Increase Allen Lapham, April 2nd
Milwaukee April 2 - 1846 Dear Sir The new county are all conditionally established ex-------?] Columbia. The Old county of Portage is now Columbia- the north part is called Portage. The division between the two in the south line of land belonging to the Menomonee Indians. I do not know [precisely?] where it is but it is near the line in the Middle of town 13 - Waukesha is the Western 16 towns of Milwaukee Co. moved a Majority the people vote in favor of the division. East time of range 20 is the division line Draw a line through Iowa Country on the middle line of Town 4. all with is to be Montgomery and south Lafeyette. ponded the people vote in [---?] of this division It is quite uncertain whether Milwaukee will be divided. Iowa I don’t know about.
